Classes
Adult Class
These classes focus on the development and improvement of the fundamental concepts, movements and techniques necessary to build a solid foundation for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The typical class begins with a 15 min warm up that involves dynamic movements and stretches followed by instruction and drilling 2-3 techniques.
Adult Advanced Training
The objective of these classes are to build upon the foundation developed in the fundamental classes with more complex movements and techniques. The typical class begins with a 15 minute warm up followed by instruction and drilling two to three techniques. This is followed by specific training, in which students spar while beginning in specific positions. The class ends with rounds of live sparring/rolling.
This is a much more intense class and is restricted to students who have earned a second stripe on their white belt.
Fundamentals Class
These classes focus on the development and improvement of the fundamental principles, movements and techniques necessary to build a solid foundation for Brazilian Jiu Jitu. The typical class begins with a 15 minute warm up that involves dynamic movements and stretches followed by instruction and practice of 2-3 techniques.
Youth Gi - Beginner
Our focus is to help cultivate fit, healthy and confident kids by developing a passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
The typical class begins with a 15 minute dynamic warm up where the students practice basic BJJ movements such as shoulder rolls, hip escapes and breakfalls followed by a series of stretches. The class is then divided into three groups.
Ages 5-7
In this group, we introduce BJJ to the students in a manner that is fun and engaging. A strong emphasis is placed in the development of motor skills and body movements. Students are introduced to techniques in a manner that is easier to comprehend with slightly less emphasis is placed on the specific details of techniques.
Ages 7-10
In this group, students begin to learn more basic movements and techniques. The typical class will involve the practice of two to three techniques/positions followed by a period of position sparring in which the students spar beginning in specified positions/situations.
Ages 10-16
In this group, the students learn fundamental movements and techniques. A stronger emphasis is placed on the details of each technique. The typical class involves the practice of two to three techniques followed by positional sparring where the students engage in sparring beginning in specified positions/situations.
Youth Gi Class
Intended for kids who want to compete.
Open Mat
Time to roll, drill, stretch or otherwise workout.
Adult No-Gi Training
No-Gi or Submission Grappling is essentially Advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu minus the uniform. Two stripe white belts and up.
